Dr. Stella is a physician with IHA Hematology Oncology Consultants, and he is the Medical Director of the Oncology Program at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Stella has clinical interest in lung, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers. He is Principal Investigator of the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium (MCRC) participating in the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Community Oncology Research Program. In 2014, NCI funded MCRC with a $10 million award. MCRC was selected as one of 34 community sites across the country to receive the 5-year grant enabling patients throughout the 13-hospital consortium to participate in cutting-edge clinical trials offering access to the top cancer treatments available. Multiple sites of the consortium participate in a current CanSORT clinical trial that tests the effectiveness of an online treatment decision tool for women with early-stage breast cancer.
